The Battle of San Marino Venue: Ford Rile Ranges, Burndell Road, Yapton , West Sussex, BN18 0HR Date: 03/05/2014 Price:Â£25.00 per head Assault on the Gothic Line By the late summer of 1944, German forces in Italy had withdrawn toward the Gothic Line, a chain of defended positions stretching across the Italian peninsula. The Allies formulated a plan to break through the defenses, pushing north toward Rimini and the plains of Northern Italy. This would involve a strong thrust up the eastern seaboard by the British Eighth Army, codenamed Operation Olive (Battle of San Marino primary operation); 11 divisions would attack along a narrow front, converging on the â€œRimini Gapâ€, an 8 mi (13 km) stretch of plain along the coast around the city, and then moving northward. Once through the Gap, the force would deploy outward onto the Romagna Plain, and move westward toward Bologna. Meanwhile, the American Fifth Army would push north along the centre of the peninsula, hopefully converging on Bologna and trapping a large German force in a pincer movement. We will be running this event as an introduction to WW2 Airsoft with look alike kit being allowed. No modern Camo is allowed. If you wish to fight on the Allied side, all ww2 kit will be fine or just plain green / olive drab, with no pattern. Green boiler suits are available on ebay for appx Â£15 If you wish to play on the Axis side then once again all ww2 uniforms are welcome or you can just use a black boiler suit and be Panzer troops away from vehicle. You do not need to spend a lot of money on getting the kit right, you only need to make a bit of an effort. People will happily lend kit or guns. 150 rounds per life so you do not need to carry a load of spare kit, you can go back to respawn and load up If you do not have, or cannot borrow a ww2 period weapon, let us know and prior to the event and we will cable tie hessian scrim to your gun. No sights lasers or any other modern sighting equipment. There are to be no modern anything, no radios and no mobile phones. What we are trying to do is create a suspension of belief, the more effort you put into this event, the more you will get out of it. Camping will be confirmed as soon as possible. We will not be having a break for lunch, it is recommended that players cater for themselves and take it into the field with them. Try and keep your meals period and of course take all rubbish away with you. All profit from this game will be donated to the Help for Heros fund. Any Questions please feel free to ask.

Hi Jimbo, count me in. Preferably german infantry, but if you don't get enough allied players, I'm quite happy to do British airborne. Will pay next week after payday. Looks like your getting quite a few regular players, maybe it might be a move to the front page next!!! If we don't encourage new players to find out how good WW2 airsoft can be, in terms of gamesmanship and camaraderie, it will slowly fade away.
